Natural deodorants though they are the best and makes the individual feel fresh, but still many people stop using natural deodorants because they claim that the natural formula does not work. But, the fact is, natural deodorant is all-natural and it is completely different from the commercial antiperspirants.
Why switch to natural deodorant? Well, one of the main reasons why you need to switch to natural deodorant is it does not cause any harm to your skin as it has all natural ingredients unlike the normal conservative antiperspirants, and also these commercial deodorants have a bad rap.
Many people might have experienced an unpleasant incident of buying natural deodorant as they might have expected something different, but unfortunately, they haven’t found any difference instead felt embarrassed with excessive dampness and smelly armpits and, which can surely disappoint the individual with the bad results and curbs their enthusiasm. It is one of the main reasons why many people are switching back to the chemical-filled deodorants.
Many people still like to use natural deodorants, but they just don’t know how to use it properly. According to my research and several years of experimenting with different types of natural deodorants, then I could come to the conclusion that you should know how to use natural deodorant to make it effective. Firstly, you should not think that once you apply deodorant and forget the rest of the day, it doesn’t work this way. You should give more consideration, and also you should understand that the chemical-free deodorants are always worth using, this kind of thinking will change the entire perspective of avoiding the natural deodorants.
1. Get a good product:
You should know that all natural deodorants are not same. Before purchasing, you should do some research and try few natural deodorant this can give you some idea of choosing the right one that can keep you fresh for long hours. Some of my favorite deodorants are CSL (Crawford Street Lemon) Deodorant Cream, PN (PiperWai Natural) Deodorant, The Rocky Mountain Soap Company’s Geranium Deodorant, and the best one which I love the most is Primitive Outposts sticks. But there are just so many. Also, I like some of the best homemade deodorants, and I learned several good things about the popular TLDYEU a Hawaiian Company and the Soap Walla’s Deodorant Cream.
2. Clean yourself before applying Deodorant:
It is very important to get clean before applying the deodorant; you should clean your armpits with the soap and wash it completely, and make sure that there are no traces of old deodorant, sweat, and bacteria left on the skin. If you smell odor during the day, then wash it with soap and water or wipe your armpits with some apple cider vinegar, and then apply the natural deodorant again.
3. Apply the natural deodorant more than once:
When you are using the natural deodorant, you should make sure to apply more than once. You cannot apply the deodorant once in the morning and forget the rest of the day; it doesn’t stay the entire day. That is why when you are going out then take your deodorant with you and apply it a few times during the entire day. If you are using the Geranium Deodorant roll-on type of deodorant, then let it dry completely, and wear your clothes.
4. Wear Cotton and other Natural Fabrics:
If you sweat a lot, then you should wear wool, cotton, hemp, or bamboo fabrics. These fabrics wick away the moisture better than the synthetic clothes. Also, these types of clothes release less odor and you can wash them completely and remove the smell totally compared to synthetics. Also, when you wear synthetics, you will start smelling bad in just a few hours even after applying the deodorant.
5. Drink a lot of Water and Eat Properly:
If you are dehydrated, then also you will smell bad, that is why it is important to keep yourself hydrated all the time. Hydration can make you sweat slowly, and also your sweat won’t smell strong. Also, some types of food make you smell bad, like pungent foods can make your natural deodorant doesn’t work efficiently. The Berkeley Wellness University of California reports say that Vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage all these belongs to the Brassica Family contains sulfur. Also, alcohol, red meat, and strong spicy curry, cumin, and fenugreek also can mask your natural deodorant.
6. Fine to feel damp:
You don’t need to feel bad about damp armpits. Dampness doesn’t actually make you smell bad. So, you don’t need to be embarrassed or anything else if you sweat a lot.
7. Give it time:
You should give some time to your body to get adjusted to new things. If your armpits are blocked for years of using the deodorant, then you should flush it out and let the pores start sweating normally. Find the activities that can help you sweat a lot. According to my own experience, the longer I started using the natural deodorant, the better I am feeling. Let your body get accustomed to new changes. Have patience, and find out the best ways to make your natural deodorant works better for you.
